Fabric Care Guide
Dev Textiles masterwork garments are designed to last for generations. Follow these curated preservation rules to protect the structure, color, and metal threads of your heritage weave.
Banarasi & Pure Katan Silk
- Dry clean only. Water exposure will damage the natural silk fibers and dull the metallic zari.
- Store wrap-folded in muslin cloth. Avoid hanging as it causes warp distortion.
- Do not apply perfume directly onto the metallic zari threads as it leads to oxidization/tarnishing.
- Iron on low-medium heat with a protective press-cloth layer.
Heavy Zardozi & Hand-Embroidered Bridal Wear
- Professional specialty dry clean only. Standard dry cleaners can break the delicate hand-wiring.
- Refold every few months to prevent permanent creases along wire seams.
- Store in a cool, dry place. Keep away from humidity which causes metal tarnish.
- Never iron directly. Steam gently from the reverse side only if required.
Chiffon, Georgette & Organza
- Dry clean only. These delicate crepe weaves easily tear or shrink with liquid washes.
- Never wring or squeeze. If damp, flat dry in shade.
- Store flat. Hanging can stretch the fabric out of shape over time.
- Iron using the lowest synthetic setting.
